E komo mai! Aloha and welcome to Mokapu Elementary's Transition Center. Together with the Anchored4Life program, a program created by the Trevor Romain Company and funded by the U.S. Navy, we at Mokapu Elementary take pride in introducing our school to families who are new to our school and new to Hawai’i for the first time (or moving back again). Our Aloha Ambassadors provide guided tours of our campus to new students and families on their first day of school. We also have classroom Crew Members who assist with transition into the classroom by showing new students how the flow of things move and introduces them to new friends in the classroom, on the playground and at lunch. We also want to focus on enhancing our ability to provide quality activity groups (after school) to transitioning youth.
PURPOSE The Mokapu Transition Center was created to provide a space where our students can feel the “Aloha” Spirit. We care about the well-being of each of our students and their families.
Our logo includes a picture of waves or the ocean. It represents ideas such as life, transitions and the resiliency through transition. We understand the stress of transitions and want to encourage each student to continue to be resilient through each change in life, whether it be moving to a new school in a new state or moving from Elementary to Intermediate.
MISSION To care for and support our students and families by providing an exciting and informative place to assist with all transitions and lessen the stress of moving to a new location.
VISION Spread A-L-O-H-A daily.
