Mrs. Saggers has been teaching music since 1997 in the areas of flute and music education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Fort Lewis College, as well as a Master of Music in Flute Performance and a Post-Baccalaureate in Music Education with a focus on general and choral music from Arizona State University. Mrs. Saggers is also a certified Kodály music educator. She received her Kodály training and certification at ASU and went on to teach other music educators at ASU’s Kodály summer training program. She has worked as a general music educator, a choral educator, a private instructor, and a professional flutist.
Mrs. Saggers has over 10 years of classroom experience in teaching general and choral music in the classroom. In 2003, Mrs. Saggers and her husband returned to Hawaii in order to raise their family in her husband’s hometown of Kane’ohe. In 2010, she began a private venture with her business Music for You. Through Music for you, Mrs. Saggers taught parent and infant/toddler classes, preschool classes, and resourced to local elementary schools for music education. In 2015, Mrs. Saggers joined the staff at Mokapu Elementary school as their full time music educator for preschool through sixth grade.
Mrs. Saggers loves a good cup of coffee, adventurous hair and fun shoes. On her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, Zumba, reading, and walks on the beach.
