Field Trip Policy
All school field trips are selected to enrich and enhance the curriculum by increasing the understanding of the unit or topic under study. All students are encouraged to participate.
Field trip permission forms and payment must be submitted by the parent/guardian in a timely manner by the deadline stated on the permission form. (Exception: If the student is absent during all the days of collection.) Failure to do so will result in the sutdent not going on the filed trip. The reasons for collection deadlines are to finalize plans, to teach students about responsibility, and to help the office collect and remit the money in an efficient and timely manner.
Payment for bus will not be refunded if the student is absent on the day of the field trip as bus costs are pre-arranged and prorated.
Students who do not go on field trips should report to school on the day of the trip since they will be given assignments to complete with another teacher.
Permission forms and money need to be turned in no later than noon on the day that they are due. No late forms or money will be accepted after that deadline. Students who choose not to participate in a field trip are still expected to attend school. Work will be provided for that day.
Parents who are invited to chaperone should wear appropriate attire including closed shoes. Parents should also be prepared to assist the teacher in supervising students for the safety of all children on the field trip.
